Céline Bouchard, MD, CSPQ, FRCS(C)

BIOGRAPHIC NOTES

Dr. Bouchard is an Associate Clinical Professor in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Université Laval. She practices at the CHUL and at « Centre Médical Santé Femme ». For many years, Dr. Bouchard has developed a special interest in vulvovaginal diseases. She is a Fellow of the International Society of Vulvovaginal Disease (ISSVD) and is recognized for her expertise in this field by many of her colleagues. She is President of the Provincial Committee for cervical cancer screening in Quebec. She practices high-resolution anoscopy (HRA) and colposcopy at the CHUL. She serves on the Executive Committee of the International Society of Anal Neoplasia (IANS). She is a member of the Professional Development Committee within the AOGQ. She serves on the editorial board of the Journal “Menopause” for many years.

Michel Fortier, MD, CSPQ, FRCS(C)

BIOGRAPHIC NOTES

Dr. Fortier completed his training in medicine and obstetrics and gynecology at Université Laval and completed additional training in colposcopy in Toronto. He subsequently contributed to women’s health research and medical education. Co-author of several scientific papers with peer review, he has lectured on numerous occasions at scientific meetings for family physicians and gynecologists colleagues.

Dr. Fortier is a former President of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC). He was a member of the board of the Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Quebec (AOGQ) as a representative of the Quebec region. He was a member of the executive committee of the AOGQ as treasurer. He was a member of the executive and board of directors of the Canadian Colposcopists Society (CCS) as director of the scientific programs and secretary-treasurer.

Recently retired from hospital practice, Dr. Fortier now practices as a gynecology consultant at « Centre Médical Santé Femme ». He is a collaborator of « Gynecocolpo de Québec » in organizing annual « Scientific Events of colposcopy Quebec (JACQ) », « Scientific Events on Menopause (JAM) » and he is currently treasurer of “SIGMA. Canadian Menopause Society”.

Robert Sabbah, MD, FRCS(C)

BIOGRAPHIC NOTES

Dr. Robert Sabbah has completed his medical studies in 1984, and residency in obstetrics and gynecology at University of Montreal in 1989. In 1989-1990, he completed post-doctoral training in fertility and reproductive endocrinology at McGill University.

Dr. Sabbah practices at « Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal » in Montreal since 1989 and since 1992, acts as scientific director of the OB-GYN department. He was head of the department from 1997 to 2005. Since 2007, he is head of the gynecology division.

Dr. Sabbah is clinical professor at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montreal and is also responsible for continuing medical education at « Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal ». In addition, he offers a theoretical, clinical and surgical education in obstetrics and gynecology for residents and medical students in family medicine, as well as courses in advanced laparoscopic surgery, where internationally renowned specialists are often invited to participate.

He was also in charge of the annual conference of the gynecological and perinatal medicine for « Hôpital du Sacré-Coeur de Montréal » from 1992 to 2010. He is a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and was examiner for the Royal College in obstetrics and Gynaecology from 2004 to 2007. He is a member of the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) and the American Association of Gynaecologic Laparoscopists. Dr. Sabbah was also involved at the provincial level as president of the Association of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Quebec (AOGQ) until June 2013. He is a representative of the Federation of Medical Specialists of Quebec.

Dr. Sabbah also participated in the clinical development of new surgical techniques in endometrial ablation and hysteroscopic tubal ligation and scientific studies and courses on these same techniques, while a member and guest speaker for the American Society of Minimally Invasive Gyneacological Surgery”.
